Ted Talks 1: How to use a paper towel

Have you heard about Ted Talks? Ted talks is basically a conference which devoted with ideas worth spreading. It was started out in 1984 whereby a first time conference was held on that time, engaged together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment and Design. Since then, its scope has become broader and reached people in most part of world including Malaysia.

I fell in love with ted talks since last year after i watched my first video by Jill Bolte Taylor, about her experiences and memories after she got stroke. Since then, i'm following the update of Ted Talk very closely. But this entry is not going to elaborate or introduce Ted Talk to you. This entry special for my favorite video which i believe by sharing, it will indirectly change your world. Here is the video:

Joe Smith on Ted Talks

In this video he actually expressed his concern on volume of the paper towel used in America. In addition he did mentioned that in a year, Americans used about 571,230,000 pounds of paper towels. Huh? How about Malaysia? He believe that by changing our way of using paper towels basically can help to reduce the use of paper towel. How? With 2 steps:

1. Shake 12 times
2. Fold till dry

That's it! Meaning, by doing it you just need 1 paper towel per use instead of 3 to 4 towels before. I did practice it and yes,you can do it with 1 paper tower only! By doing so, you will directly can reduce the production of paper towels and the amount of cut trees :) Horray! You are contributing something to world starting today! Isn't that great?

p.s: You can check out other alternative solution to avoid waste of paper towel by checking the following URL: Jimmy paper towel saves trees and reduces waste! Cool stuff :)
